Our A4 plastic coils are probably most commonly used for classic college books. Notebooks, school calendars, year planners and photo books can also be produced with plastic coils. The spiral binding (coil binding) is durable, stable and user-friendly. The smooth PVC surface of the spirals allows the sheets of the binding document to be turned over particularly quietly and smoothly.
Dimensions of the plastic coils
Before you order plastic coils at SPRINTIS, it makes sense to think about the required inner diameter and length. Depending on the product that needs a binding, different dimensions are required. The SPRINTIS range offers plastic coils with diameters from 6 mm to 32 mm. The larger the inner diameter of the plastic spiral, the more sheets it can hold. Our plastic coils are mainly suitable for A4 formats; however, selected variants can also be ordered in A5 format. If you are not sure which size and length is best for your product, our customer service will be happy to help you!
Colours of the plastic coils
Depending on the product and the intended use, different colour variations are desired for our plastic spiral bindings. Therefore, we offer 3 different colours in our range. In the SPRINTIS shop you will find plastic coils in transparent, white and black. The colour choice for a plastic coil can depend on many different factors. Often the design and the font colour of the product to be bound are decisive. Many customers choose the same colour for all their material to impress with a uniform image.
Custom-made plastic coils
If the colours and lengths offered in our shop still do not completely meet your expectations, it is also possible to produce our plastic coils as a special order. Our customer consultants will be happy to advise you on your wishes. You can order our plastic coils in special lengths and an extended colour range:
Application of plastic coils
The plastic spiral bindings from SPRINTIS can be used in many ways. Our plastic spirals for coilbinding can be used to bind the following printed products:
- College notebooks
- Exercise books
- Product catalogues
- Photo books
- And much more...
The binding process is easy. In a preparatory step the sheets are punched with the appropriate spiral binding devices or punching machines. After the plastic coil is bound, the ends of the spiral are bent over in a final step. This fixes the binding and prevents it from being twisted out. This way you can prevent the individual sheets from coming loose (even after prolonged use).
Advantages of plastic coils
Coil binding with a plastic spiral is very robust, allowing the printed product to be opened numerous times. The narrow plastic spiral also allows the college notebook or calendar to lie evenly and flat on the table and can be flipped 360 degrees. The smooth PVC surface ensures a particularly quiet opening. This is necessary, e.g., for sheet music, because the quiet impact doesn´t disturb the atmosphere of the concert. The plastic spiral in the coil binding also has a very high-quality appearance. It should be noted that with plastic coils there is a page offset when the document is opened. The left side is offset a little further down than the right side.
Accessories for spiral bindings
In our shop you will also find filing strips for plastic coils and a coil crimper for neatly cutting and bending plastic coils. The pliers are ideal for opening and cutting spiral bindings without damaging the previously bound document and are suitable for spiral bindings made of metal and plastic.
